Welcome to Garden Route

From Johannesburg to Cape Town

Discover the Garden Route from Johannesburg to Cape town. The route stretches on the southern coast from Heidelberg to the Tsitsikamma Forest and Storms River. High on the must-see lists of most visitors to South Africa being very popular, and with good reason: you can’t help but be seduced by the glorious natural beauty. Known as one of the world’s most spectacular drives. The distance from Mossel Bay in the west to Storms River in the east is just over 200km, yet the range of topography, vegetation, wildlife and outdoor activities is remarkable. A temperate landscape of sandy beaches, indigenous forests, rocky shores and quaint towns where you can do everything from savour fresh oysters to watch southern right whales at play. It is a mix of modern golf courses, ancient forests, secluded artists’ communities, retirement estates, modern malls, craft centres, mountain hideaways and beach holidays. A large number of interesting and creative people are drawn to this magnificent stretch of coastline and many of them now call it home. While the scenery is enough to make you stop and stare, it’s the hidden gems that can be found on the sides of the roads that are the real allure. Over time, ancient woodcutter clans, fishermen, artists, businessmen and top chefs have all found their niches along the  way in the Western Cape. The latest addition of which is the Bramon Wine Farm just outside Plettenberg Bay. This empowerment project is bringing wine making, and all of its economic benefits, to the region. It doesn’t just do good, it tastes good too! Please do not hesitate to contact Ignus Gerber Photography for a custom-made quotation to meet your specific requirements.
